Alfa Laval hygienic ball valves feature a precision-made ball with a full bore positioned inside the valve body, secured between two PTFE valve seats. A 90° rotation of the valve stem—via a manual handle or pneumatic actuator—opens or closes the valve.
The full-bore design ensures the bore diameter matches the pipeline, allowing viscous liquids or liquids with particles to flow freely with minimal pressure drop and product loss. When closed, the ball tightly seals the passage, ensuring reliable operation. Inspection holes in the bonnet connecting the valve body and actuator allow quick verification of stem seal integrity.
Durability is enhanced by a specially selected PTFE-grade material and a robust ball, while spring-loaded, self-adjusting seal rings ensure a secure stem seal. The valve’s design also features assembly screws for easy disassembly and maintenance, ensuring long service life and dependable performance.
