Alfa Laval diaphragm valves operate manually or automatically. In manual operation, turning the handle lifts the compressor upwards, moving the diaphragm away from the valve body’s weir to open the valve. Turning the handle in the opposite direction pushes the compressor downwards, pressing the diaphragm against the weir to close the valve.
In automatic operation, a pneumatic actuator performs the same movements, lifting or lowering the compressor to open or close the valve. This design ensures precise flow control and reliable performance for hygienic and high-purity processes.
