Alfa Laval double seal valves are remotely controlled using compressed air and are equipped with two pneumatic normally open (NO) valves - a leakage detection valve and a CIP valve. The valve plug features two seals, creating a leakage chamber between them under atmospheric pressure.
Any product leakage is discharged into the leakage chamber via the leakage detection valve, preventing contamination. The leakage chamber can be cleaned efficiently by introducing Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) fluid through the leakage detection valve. Designed for reliability, these valves are resistant to water hammer in the product line above the plug, ensuring safe and uninterrupted operation.
